About Linda Sasser

I am a mom to three kids, two of whom recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma, which is hard on this Texas Longhorn fan. My third child is in high school, and she shares my love of basketball. Of all my personal and professional accomplishments, these three kids are my greatest pride.

Of course, I can’t take all the credit. My husband, Keven, and I have worked side-by-side raising children, cattle, horses and other various species of the four-legged variety for the past 28 years. We’ve always enjoyed working hard and tackling a good challenge, and we undertook the first one of our marriage in 1989 when we opened an Express Personnel Services staffing franchise together in Austin, Texas, otherwise known as God’s Country.

It turned out we had a knack for the staffing business, and it quickly grew. But as it quickly grew, I quickly realized that I needed to focus less on the day-to-day demands of the business and more on its long-term success, which it turned out, depended on my ability to develop leaders within our little organization.

So one day I picked up Developing the Leader Within You by John Maxwell. I learned about the five levels of leadership, and that instead of being the one who produced our company to the top, I needed to turn my focus to building and leading a top-producing team. I did, and the team made our office one of the top-ranked franchises in the company. As the business continued to grow, so did my passion for leadership.

My greatest professional joy is in helping others maximize their strengths and grow as leaders. I love my job most when I’m working with and leading teams. Today I get to do just that as the founder and chief executive officer at Impacting Leaders, an executive leadership and business consulting firm that works with a variety of companies on their organizational structure as well as their individual and team leadership development to promote a replicable growth environment. Our clients range from small businesses to mid-sized corporations, and I have the privilege of serving John Maxwell by consulting on and developing his corporate content.

Though I’m living my dream, I didn’t set out to be the CEO of a leadership and business consulting firm. I’ve taught physical education to elementary school kids. I’ve been a sales manager. I spent five years as a vice president in a two billion dollar organization in Oklahoma City, and then moved to Atlanta to steward the John Maxwell business brand as the COO of GiANT Impact, and later as the president of The John Maxwell Company. God’s plan for my life has given me the opportunity to work in a variety of capacities in a variety of organizations with varying cultures, which has only reinforced my belief that leadership is not a technique, position or title.

I believe leadership is about who you are, no matter where you are, and it is the responsibility of current leaders to coach and develop each new generation. After all, leadership shouldn’t be reserved for top-level executives or those with a title but should be open to anyone in any role with a heart for influencing and serving others.
